The problem? SITE Southeast is bringing together a couple hundred people for a cooking competition, but the kitchen is only open to nine teams of five. How can all the attendees get in on the action?
The solution? A livestream switch broadcast both in the venue and live on facebook.
We enlisted the help of Lauren Singer-Perry, of Splorin’ with Lauren fame, to host the event. She brushed up on her food banter so she could interview contestants and judges. The Encyclomedia team arrived at the venue early to set up a couple static cameras that would give us a wide view of all the cooking in the kitchen. And when it came time for the fiesta, we had 2 roving cameras that could get a front-row view of all the slicing, dicing, dancing, and drinking. Footage from all 4 cameras was transmitted wirelessly to the switch which was edited live on-site in front of our own studio audience. The event took place at Team Building with Taste, a unique team-building venue with a custom kitchen all set to foster collaboration and innovation. Best Self Magazine has chosen Team Building with Taste as the best team building venue in Atlanta for 2021, 2022, and 2023. SITE Southeast participated in their Cooking Up Camaraderie program which had them work with chefs to create yummy tapas-like appetizers that the whole group got to enjoy once the judging was complete. Following the culinary capers, the teams presented their dishes to the judges and audience using both song and dance, and good times were had by all.
