encyclomedia 2012 Nonprofit Video Giveaway Contest

Official Rules

No purchase or payment necessary to enter or win.  All federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply.  Void where prohibited. 

Eligibility

Participation in the contest is open to any individuals or nonprofit representative, which, at the time of entry submission has its principal office (including home office) in the United States.  The person entering the Contest on behalf of a nonprofit organization must be authorized to act on behalf of the nonprofit organization.  Only one entry per nonprofit organization will be accepted.  The first entry received will be accepted as the official entry of any nonprofit organization submitting multiple entries to the Contest.

Entry Period and Entering

No purchase or payment is required to enter.  The entry period begins on March 1, 2012 at 12:00am EST and ends on June 30, 2012 at 11:59pm EDT.  To enter, complete the entry form and submit entry form and a separate document containing responses to items A-J on the entry form to nonprofit@encyclomedia.net.  Alternately, entry form and answers to items A-J on the entry form may be mailed to:

Entries submitted by mail must be postmarked by June 30, 2012 to be eligible.  Entries become property of encyclomedia and will not be returned.  Incomplete entries are void.  encyclomedia is  not responsible for entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, incomprehensible, illegible, damaged, undeliverable or delayed.  Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Winner Determination

Summaries of all entries (item J on the entry form) will be posted to the encyclomedia website at http://encyclomedia.net/nonprofitcontest. Voting on the encyclomedia website will open in early July 2012 and will close on July 31, 2012 at 11:59PM EDT.  Following the voting period, the 3 entries with the most votes will become the 3 finalists.  By participating in the voting portion of the Contest, each voting participant agrees to be bound by the official Contest rules.  Voting is limited to one vote per verified email address.  If an entrant receives multiple and/or irregular votes or multiple votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source,  encyclomedia reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion.  If the internet voting process fails to operate properly or appears to be tampered with or tainted with errors, fraud or unfair practices, encyclomedia reserves the right to use another means to determine the finalists, i.e. random selection or appointing a panel of judges.   All decisions of the judges are final.  Following the voting period, encyclomedia staff will pick the Contest winner from the 3 finalists.  The winner will be notified directly by encyclomedia, and the results will be posted to the encyclomedia website in August 2012.

Consumer Created Content

By entering the Contest, entrant agrees that their disclosure is gratuitous, unsolicited and without restriction and will not place encyclomedia under any fiduciary or other obligation, and that encyclomedia is free to disclose the ideas on a non-confidential basis to anyone or otherwise use the ideas without any additional compensation to entrant.  By entering, all entrants warrant and represent that their respective entries are their own fully original creations, and their respective entries (including, but not limited to, any materials integrated into their entries) will not infringe or violate the rights of any third parties, including but not limited to copyrights, trademarks and/or rights of publicity/privacy.  By entering, entrant warrants that any third party whose person or property appears in the entry has given entrant appropriate written consent (which shall be provided to encyclomedia upon request thereof) for such person or property to be used in any Contest related matter.

Release

By participating in the Contest, each participant and winner waives any and all claims of liability against encyclomedia and its employees and agents for any personal injury or loss which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the Contest, or from the use of any prize.  Prizes are non-transferable.  No substitutions or cash redemptions.  All taxes and unspecified expenses are the sole responsibility of the winners.

Additional Terms

encyclomedia reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend or suspend the Contest should (in its sole discretion) virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest. In case of termination, encyclomedia may select the winners from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by encyclomedia using the judging criteria, in the sole discretion of encyclomedia.  encyclomedia is not responsible if the Contest cannot take place or if any prize cannot be awarded due to travel cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather or acts of terrorism.
